In this talk, Todd Gray will examine the history of designed landscapes in East Devon through surviving paintings, drawings and maps. Using a variety of illustrations and examples, Todd will reveal the distinctiveness of gardens in Devon from those outside the county. He will give examples of the different types of gardens, in a variety of categories, functional, formal, green and Empire. East Devon will be set in the context of the county as a whole.
